My name is Renee, I’m 36, I live in North Vancouver, BC and I work for myself as a technical writer – though, for the past year and a half, I’ve been working on my first novel.

The book is set in Vancouver and is about a young woman named Asra, who discovers some alarming things about herself: 1) she isn’t human – though she was raised to believe she was – she’s one of the fae, and 2) It might have been better if she’d never discovered she was fae, because the current High King of Faery wants to use her abilities for his own ends. If she cooperates with him, she’ll get the one things she’s always wanted; if she refuses, she’ll lose all chance of it forever.

Intrigued? I hope so!

More things about me: well, I like to write (obviously) and read (I just finished Stephen King’s latest – it was great), and cook things in my crock pot (marvelous invention), and eat the things I cook in the crock pot, and play video games (semi-addicted to World of Warcraft, but currently in a love/hate relationship with Skyrim), and board games (Dominion, mostly), and I doodle stick people (see header and many of my blog posts).

I also enjoy good beer, knitting (if you need a square or a rectangle knitted – I’m your girl!), collecting beach glass, listening to music (everything from Beethoven to Metallica), hanging out with the cool people in my book club (well, not MY book club, but I am a member) and scrounging around in second-hand bookstores so I can “rescue” books that need a good home.
